James was my uncle, and fought in WW2. I remember even as a kid seeing the weight of that experience showing in his eyes and hearing the stories and knowing he was a real hero who paid a price for the freedom we enjoy. I asked my uncle on more that one occasion if he regreted that time, and he told me to never regret anything that is absolutly necessary, and protecting our freedom is absolutly necessary. My uncle died of a stroke several years ago.
